How It Works
If you are observing the Ekadashi fast , on the day of Puja , you should take a bath with Ganga Jal in water . Further, wear clean clothes. Now , in front of the worship idol of Vishnu , take a Sankalpa ( resolution ) of fasting . Keep sesame , mudra , kush , and water in your hand . In your resolution, say thus, “I keep a fast of Amalaki Ekadashi with the blessings of Lord Vishnu and wishing for salvation. Lord Vishnu keeps me in my refuge for this fast to be completed successfully. ”

Now worship Lord Vishnu . Further, offer flowers, fruits and basil leaves in front of Lord Vishnu. Afterward , perform the aarti of Shri Hari Vishnu and bow to him . Further , worship the Amla tree with all the same things . Firstly , before worshiping the Amla tree , clean the land around the tree and sanctify it with cow dung . Next , generate an altar in the root of the tree and install the urn on it . Now , pray to Gods and Sagar in this Kalash ( Urn ) .
